Star Mazda Rules | ||
|
Todd, or anyone from Valley,
Is there a seperate rule book for the Star Mazda series, or do the rules under the SCCA GCR cover all rules for the Star Mazda Series. If there are seperate rules, such as the new shocks, where would i go about reciving that information?? Tim Jennings |

Where Are The Rules? | ||

Tim
One of the suggestions for the remake of the www.starmazda website is to have the rules on line. It is certainly an area for confusion to all with 2 different set of rules to bounce back and forth between to say nothing of making sure your car is legal for each type of racing. I would prefer a continuation or answer to this question be started as a new Topic under the "Star Mazda & SCCA Rules and Racing" section for others to find more easily in the future. Thanks PS Ask more great questions and your driver status under your name will improve to reflect your true on track skills. :lol |

Whoa, let's set the record straight here (again) on this rules issue. There are no special rules for the Pro Series and Western Series events, only a more restrictive interpretation of the existing ones. All cars entered in the Pro races are conforming to the GCR. The only exception may be in the area of Supertrapps, where ALMS will let us run without them as sound is not an issue. The opposite of what many think is true:
the GCR is more liberal in many areas than we enforce. No car is forced to run the new shock, allowed to run Mk5 gears, given more rpm, allowed specia shockl parts, or allowed turbos. The Series will continue to enforce it's sup regs for next season with only a few minor changes. The other areas of change may be in the area of administration and proper flag proceedures, pit speed issues etc. these are dictiated to us by Sports Car. You learn to adapt. I hope to have this info on cars in a more user friendly format next year with Erics help. Please help us keep this information correct, we hope to set an expample for the SCCA to some extent and make running a FM even more enjoyable. ToddTCE Perf Prod480-967-7901

Todd...
I'll make it user friendly as long as we have friendly users! And as long as I get all the information to post. Eric |

Anyone who doesn't update this year is not trying to win races. Like it or not, they're approved, and Valley has never made an update to the car which didn't improve performance. Now, if they are more consistant and have better adjustability (as reported), that will be great. And, it should hopefully eliminate the variation we see between shocks currently. When will the first sets ship?

Eric;
Gary has a working copy of the sup regs for 2001 by now and you may wish to talk to him about posing a copy. Not really anything new there, but to follow up to the above request..... ToddTCE Perf Prod480-967-7901
